OUR SERVICES

We are Associate Members of the Arboricultural Association.

LARGE TREE REMOVAL

Trees can become over large and hazardous, particularly in confined areas. Any tree can be removed, where necessary, even with minimal space available for felling and nearby buildings, by controlled sectional removal.

STUMP GRINDING

The removal of tree stumps with a mechanical grinder.

DEAD WOODING

The removal of dead wood to make a tree safe and improve the appearance and health of the tree.

FRUIT TREE PRUNING

We can advise on the best time and method to keep your fruit trees healthy and fully producing.

CROWN REDUCTIONS

Crown reduction is the removal of ends of branches all around the crown of the tree to reduce the overall tree size but retaining the shape of the tree.

CROWN THINNING

This is the removal of branches within the crown which cross each other, bunching the centre of the crown. Crown thinning will help light and air flow through the tree without much reduction to the size and shape of the tree.

CROWN LIFTING

Removal of lower branches to lift the point where the crown of the tree begins.

HEDGE CUTTING

Often regarded as a simple job, but a professionally cut hedge can make a huge difference to the appearance of your property and continued health of your hedging.

WOODLAND MANAGEMENT

Coppicing, removal of fallen trees and branches, harvesting and processing of wood.

PLANNING REQUIREMENTS

We can carry out checks and advise and assist you with any necessary restrictions relating to Tree Preservation Orders and Conservation Areas.

TREES AND THE LAW

Accreditations

nptc

Tree Preservation Orders (TPO’s) are specific Orders made by the Local Authority applicable to specified trees which are considered to have a high amenity value to an area, they can apply to single trees or groups of trees in an area and are identified by reference to a plan and the description within the Order.

A Conservation Area is a designated area which the Local Authority consider is worthy of preservation owing to its architectural and/or historical interest.     All trees measuring 75mm or over at 1.5m above the ground are protected within a Conservation Area.   Six weeks’ notice must be given to the appropriate Authority before any work is carried out to such trees.

It is a common misconception that the process of obtaining permission for work to such trees is an arduous task, but provided the works are sensible and necessary then it is highly likely that you will be successful with your application.

Liquidamber TS can prepare applications to the local Authority on your behalf and/or we are able to confer with the Local Authority where necessary.

Power lines – where any power lines run through or near any trees which require work we will liaise with UK Power Networks on your behalf to arrange permission for the works and to have any cables shrouded, or power disconnected for the duration of the works as necessary.
