Tree Preservation Orders (TPO’s) are specific Orders made by the Local Authority applicable to specified trees which are considered to have a high amenity value to an area, they can apply to single trees or groups of trees in an area and are identified by reference to a plan and the description within the Order.
A Conservation Area is a designated area which the Local Authority consider is worthy of preservation owing to its architectural and/or historical interest. All trees measuring 75mm or over at 1.5m above the ground are protected within a Conservation Area. Six weeks’ notice must be given to the appropriate Authority before any work is carried out to such trees.
It is a common misconception that the process of obtaining permission for work to such trees is an arduous task, but provided the works are sensible and necessary then it is highly likely that you will be successful with your application.
Liquidamber TS can prepare applications to the local Authority on your behalf and/or we are able to confer with the Local Authority where necessary.
Power lines – where any power lines run through or near any trees which require work we will liaise with UK Power Networks on your behalf to arrange permission for the works and to have any cables shrouded, or power disconnected for the duration of the works as necessary.
